The Process of Writing Your Icon

Creating a bespoke icon is a journey of prayer, patience, and traditional craftsmanship. Here is how we bring your spiritual vision to life:

1. Consultation & Vision:

We begin with a personal conversation via email to discuss the specific Saint or scene you wish to commission, along with your preferred dimensions.

2. Traditional Preparation:

I prepare a high-quality, seasoned wood panel (such as Linden wood). The foundation is laid using traditional methods to ensure the icon lasts for centuries.

3. The Writing Process (Egg Tempera):

Using natural earth pigments and the ancient egg tempera technique, the icon is slowly painted layer by layer. The entire process takes 4 to 8 weeks and is done under the strict professional guidance of Israel’s leading master iconographers to ensure absolute theological accuracy.

4. Final Varnish & Worldwide Delivery:

Once the icon is fully cured, a protective varnish is applied. It is then carefully packaged and shipped directly from the Holy Land to your doorstep, anywhere in the world.
